Flock Privacy Policy

Summary

Flock helps you find friends in a crowd. We share your live location only with friends you have explicitly approved, and only while you are using the app. You can stop sharing or delete your account at any time.

What we collect

• Account: a user identifier from Sign in with Apple, and the name you choose to display. Apple lets you hide your email; we never receive it if you choose Hide My Email.
• Location: your device's GPS location and, when nearby, ultra-wideband distance/direction to an approved friend. Location is used to show friends how to find you and is shared only with people you approve.
• Contacts (optional): if you use the Invite feature, contact names and phone numbers are read on your device only, to let you pick someone to message. We do not upload your address book to our servers.

How we use it

• To show approved friends your position (arrow + distance).
• To let you send and approve friend requests.
• For nothing else. We do not sell data, we do not serve ads, and we do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

Who can see your location

Only users you have approved. This is enforced both in the app and by our database security rules: another user's device cannot read your location unless you have added them to your approved list. Approval is mutual and revocable.

Data retention & deletion

• Your live location is transient and overwritten as you move.
• You can remove any friend at any time, which immediately revokes their access.
• Delete account (in Settings) permanently removes your profile, location, friend code, and your entry in every friend's approved list. This cannot be undone.

Third-party services

We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Realtime Database) to run accounts and the location relay. Their handling of data is governed by Google's privacy policy.

Children

Flock is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region).
